Our Wheat Farm

Our story begins deep, into the depths of rural Mongolia. It’s a funny story, actually -- the farmers came up with the idea of using the wheat stalks as straws from the children using them to blow bubbles! 

We like to think of our wheat straws as a “second-chance” ✨ Our straws are made from the *byproduct* of wheat production. A.k.a. it is made from something that would otherwise be tossed aside. Plus, no additional cropland is necessary. 

Once the plant reaches maturity and turns golden yellow, the grain goes into food production. The stalks are hand-harvested and sorted before being cut and made into hay for animal fodder or, in our case, Little Green Panda straws. 

Our straws are made by hand and with love from the very start; right from being hand-harvested, all the way to being cut, soaked, sterilised (four times!) and finally, air-dried in the sun.
